The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) in Lahore has applauded the Punjab Healthcare Commission’s (PHC) decision to cut the COVID19 PCR test fee from Rs6,500 to Rs4,800 for private hospitals, laboratories, and collection centres. Dr. Ashraf Nizami, President of the Pakistan Medical Association in Lahore, indicated in a statement issued on Sunday that the fee of a COVID PCR test was still prohibitively expensive for ordinary citizens.
He said that “If a free COVID PCR test is not achievable, the price of the test should be reduced further to Rs2,000 per test.
