Islamabad: A deadline of completion by the end of September has been set by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for the Rawal Dam Interchange project.
PM Shehbaz Sharif has requested the Capital Development Authority to complete this project by September 2022, according to a member engineer of the agency.
Moreover, Calson and Maqbool Associates were granted joint venture rights to the Rawal Dam Interchange Project in June 2020. However, the price hike forced the work to be halted.
The instructions have also been issued to ensure that travellers have access to quality travel facilities, a CDA spokesperson told a newspaper. He added that granular material is also used to avoid being affected by heavy rains, which prevents construction work from being harmed.
Capital Development Authority management instructed all concerned departments on this occasion to accelerate the pace of work and ensure high quality of work in all circumstances, as well as to take advantage of all available resources to complete the project ahead of schedule.
Rawal Dam Interchange project is being executed by FWO, which was scheduled to be completed one month early. October 2022 was the project’s committed delivery date.
In addition to the overhead bridge and underpass connecting Margalla Town, the project includes multiple slip roads and an underpass.
Murree Road, Club Road, and Park Road are the intersections where the project is being constructed. Upon completion, the project will relieve commuters from traffic congestion on Murree Road, which has become a routine occurrence.
