PKR 960 Million Approved for 9 Road Projects in Punjab

Sargodha: The Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) has officially sanctioned funding for nine major road projects in the Bhakkar and Khushab districts. According to a news report from August 29, these projects come with a substantial budget allocation of PKR 960 million, aiming to enhance infrastructure and improve connectivity in the region.

The decision to approve these projects was made during a meeting chaired by Sargodha Division Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan. During the session, it was revealed that seven of these road projects are designated for the Bhakkar district, with an allocated budget of PKR 715 million. The remaining two projects are set to benefit the Khushab district, with a total budget of PKR 250 million. These initiatives focus on both road construction and repairs, ensuring the development of safe and efficient transportation routes for the local population.

A critical aspect of the meeting was the confirmation that full funding for all these road schemes has already been released. With the financial backing secured, the authorities are optimistic that the projects will be completed within the year, significantly improving the infrastructure of these districts.

Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan stressed the importance of rigorous oversight to ensure that the quality of work meets high standards. He emphasized that deputy commissioners in both districts must take an active role in supervising the progress of these road projects. Quality and sustainability are key priorities, and strict monitoring will be in place throughout the construction phases.

To further ensure transparency and accountability, Commissioner Awan announced that a third-party audit will be conducted for all the approved projects. This step is intended to verify that funds are being utilized effectively and that the road construction meets all necessary standards for long-term durability.

The meeting was attended by a range of officials, including Director Development Bilal Hassan, SE Building, SE Local Government, SE Public Health Engineering, XEN Highways, and Deputy Director Technical. Additionally, the deputy commissioners of Bhakkar and Khushab districts joined the meeting via video link to contribute their insights and ensure coordinated efforts across all levels of administration.

These road projects are expected to play a pivotal role in boosting regional development by improving connectivity, enhancing access to key areas, and supporting local economies. Residents of Bhakkar and Khushab can look forward to better infrastructure that will contribute to overall growth and quality of life in the districts.
