Islamabad: To facilitate business activities in the federal capital, Capital Development Authority (CDA) assured residents on Monday that encroachments would be removed from markets in collaboration with trade associations.
As Shahjahan Khan, Deputy Director General (Enforcement), spoke with Fawad Waheed, senior vice president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CDA assured Fawad Waheed that the removal of the encroachments would benefit the traders and revive the beauty of the federal capital. He assured them he would involve trade associations in the concerned markets.
As Pakistan’s capital, he said, rising encroachments are causing problems for the business community and hindering the city’s beauty.
The civic body has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against encroachment, so it has already surveyed many markets to identify encroachments.
Additionally, he encouraged Market Association representatives to provide their contact information to the Enforcement Directorate so they can be incorporated into the discussion of this issue in markets.
A plan is being developed by the CDA to relocate all showrooms from markets to suitable locations.
