Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur announced on Friday that the provincial government is on track to complete 600 development projects across the province by December this year. This ambitious initiative, reported on August 2, aims to address critical infrastructure needs and enhance public welfare.
In a meeting with parliamentarians and party leaders from all four regions of KP, CM Gandapur underscored the urgency of addressing the concerns of the public, particularly in the aftermath of the recent monsoon rains that have caused significant damage to the province’s infrastructure. He emphasized that public welfare projects and infrastructure repairs must be prioritized to meet the immediate needs of the people.
CM Gandapur also highlighted the importance of focusing on ongoing development initiatives, ensuring that these projects are completed efficiently and effectively. He called for a shift in governance, advocating for the devolution of authority to the local level, which he believes will lead to more responsive and targeted project implementation. By empowering local elected representatives to propose development projects based on the specific needs of their constituencies, the government aims to ensure that public funds are utilized in the most efficient and impactful manner.
The Chief Minister made it clear that the government will adopt a strict policy regarding the inauguration of projects. He announced that no project would be inaugurated until it is fully completed and ready for public use. This approach is intended to prevent the premature opening of projects that are not yet functional, ensuring that the public benefits from fully operational infrastructure and services.
The 600 development projects set to be completed by December are expected to significantly improve the quality of life for the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These projects span various sectors, including education, healthcare, transportation, and public utilities. By addressing the pressing needs of the province, the KP government aims to create a more resilient and prosperous region.
CM Gandapur’s commitment to public welfare and efficient governance reflects the provincial government’s broader strategy to enhance development and respond to the needs of its citizens. The successful completion of these projects will mark a significant milestone in the province’s development journey, setting the stage for further progress in the years to come.
