Minister Ghani Pushes MDA to Fast-Track Housing Projects

Karachi: On August 27, Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani urged the Malir Development Authority (MDA) to expedite the completion of their housing projects, which are crucial for providing affordable living options to the public. During a meeting with key MDA officials, the Minister stressed the importance of overcoming the challenges currently delaying three significant MDA projects.

Ghani called for detailed reports on the obstacles causing these delays and instructed MDA officials to submit them to the Sindh government for immediate review. He emphasized that identifying and resolving these issues is vital to ensuring the timely completion of the housing projects, which will greatly benefit the local community. Ghani made it clear that delays in these projects are unacceptable, as they hinder the government’s efforts to provide affordable housing to the people of Sindh.

The Minister reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to fulfilling the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) manifesto, which prioritizes providing shelter for every family in the province. According to Ghani, affordable housing remains a key part of the provincial government’s agenda, and the timely completion of these projects is a critical step in achieving this goal.

During the meeting, Ghani emphasized the urgency of moving forward with the MDA housing schemes. He highlighted the need for collaboration and efficient problem-solving to overcome any administrative or technical challenges. The MDA was tasked with ensuring that all necessary resources and support were directed toward speeding up the construction and development processes.

The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including MDA Director-General Najamuddin Sehto, Project Director Muhammad Laeeq Ahmed, Superintendent Engineer Shiraz Mirani, Land Management Director Farooq Bugti, Finance Director Waqas Soomro, and other senior figures. These officials were urged to work collectively to remove any bottlenecks and ensure that the housing projects are completed within the set deadlines.

Ghani’s directives reflect the Sindh government’s broader vision of improving living standards for the people of Sindh by providing them with affordable housing options. The completion of the MDA projects will mark a significant milestone in achieving this vision, and the government is committed to seeing these initiatives through to completion.

This renewed focus on housing projects underlines the government’s dedication to meeting the needs of the people and delivering on its promises of development and progress across the province.
