Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed that the elevated expressway project in the provincial capital begin immediately, citing the benefits of reduced traffic congestion on the canal and Multan roads.He issued these directives while chairing a meeting about the elevated expressway project at the CM Office. The status of LDA’s various ongoing development projects was reviewed. The elevated expressway, according to the chief minister, will make it easier for commuters to reach the motorway. Such projects were necessary for light of the growing population, he said, because elevated expressways would cut traffic congestion on busy roads by 65 percent.
He added that the City’s ongoing projects should be completed within the time frame specified. LDA DG Ahmad Aziz Tarar provided an update on the project. The meeting was attended by the Provincial Minister for Housing Asad Khokhar, Chairman P&D, secretaries of housing, finance, and local government departments, the principal secretary to the CM, and others.
