LAHORE: As a result of the positive response to the Waste-to-Energy project by Lahore Waste Management Company, a Chinese firm, China National Electric Engineering Company, has also expressed its interest in the project.
LWMC CEO Ali Anan Qamar and Fan Xingrui, led by Fan Xingrui, discussed important details of the project on Monday with a Chinese delegation.
In Thailand, the National Engineering Company of China operated 80 megawatts and 25 megawatts of waste-to-energy plants, according to Fan Xingrui, head of the Chinese delegation.
Additionally, Ethiopian waste-to-energy plants are producing 25 megawatts of electricity each.
The LWMC CEO said they will take the matter to the Chief Minister’s Office after receiving valid proposals. They will stop the pollution due to waste-to-energy. It will be made easier with the introduction of the project. The Chinese government is one of our closest friends. And we are willing to support the project in every way possible,” he concluded.
In his message, Ali Anan Qamar urged citizens to litter and to follow waste segregation guidelines. In case of complaints, citizens are welcome to call and use the LWMC helpline 1139.
