Punjab CM Reviews Progress of Lahore Development Model Pilot Project

According to details, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Rafia Haider briefed CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif on the project’s progress. She emphasized the addition of nameplates, house numbers, and street lights to UC 53 in addition to upgrades to the subterranean sewage system that include new manhole guards.

The project, featuring concrete, cobblestone, tuff tiles, and colored floors, was inspected by CM Maryam herself. Additionally, she approved plans to diversify tile colors across Lahore’s various neighborhoods.

In her visit, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of this pilot project as a blueprint for future urban development initiatives across the province. She praised the project’s focus on modern infrastructure and community-friendly amenities, noting that such developments are crucial for enhancing the quality of life for residents. The inclusion of street lights and proper house numbering was particularly highlighted as a measure to improve safety and navigation within the neighborhood.

The Chief Minister also interacted with residents to gather feedback on the ongoing work. Many community members expressed their appreciation for the improvements, particularly the enhanced lighting and better sewage systems. This engagement reflects the government’s commitment to involving local communities in development projects and ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed.

Furthermore, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif pointed out that the diverse tile colors would not only add aesthetic value but also represent the cultural diversity of Lahore’s neighborhoods. She emphasized that future development projects would continue to prioritize both functionality and visual appeal, aiming to create vibrant and livable urban spaces.

The visit concluded with a directive from the Chief Minister to expedite the completion of the pilot project while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability. She reiterated the government’s dedication to transforming Lahore into a model city with state-of-the-art infrastructure and services.
