Several areas in Lahore are being connected to New Defence Road under the pretext of connecting a road for a few influential people, according to a news report.
In exchange for allowing the passing of a road through the land of an LDA Chief Engineer, the land was commercialized immediately through his frontmen.
A fact-finding report was demanded by DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa as a result. According to the DG LDA, this project does not appear to be intended to link up the localities with the defense road.
According to him, all the localities are connected to the defence road through their own routes so it is not necessary to construct this road. Moreover, he asserted that the road’s construction is a scam.
