Ten crew members were on board the Indian sailing ship Jamna Sagar when it sank near Gwadar in the Arabian Sea on Monday, 9th August.

During the sinking of the Indian vessel Jamna Sagar near Gwadar, the Pakistan Navy managed to rescue nine crew members.
In the Arabian Sea near Gwadar, an Indian sailing vessel called the Jamna Sagar sank on the 9th of August with ten crew members on board. As a result of the distress call, Pakistan Maritime Information Centre requested that MT Kruibeke provide necessary assistance to the drowning sailing vessel’s crew, a Pakistan Navy spokesman said.
Eventually, nine crew members were recovered and the merchant ship proceeded to its next port, Dubai, where the crew disembarked.
During the same time, two helicopters and one Pakistan Navy ship also reached the scene and found the body of a crew member who had been missing after the sailing vessel drowned. Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) authorities recovered the body, which has been handed over for further investigation.
