ISLAMABAD: Now it will become possible to drive through the Rawal Dam underpass in Islamabad on Monday. According to some media reports, the eagerly anticipated project will likely be opened by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
In response to the ongoing floods, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) informed the Prime Minister that the Rawal Dam Interchange building project was delayed.
Besides a slip road, an underpass, an overhead bridge, and an underpass for Margalla Town, the Rawal Dam Interchange consists of several slip roads. Crossroads at Murree Road, Club Road, and Park Road have been constructed.
A number of ongoing development projects have been carried out by the CDA, including expanding the Islamabad Expressway, renovating the IJP Road, building the Rawal Dam Flyover, the 7th Avenue Flyover, the 9th Avenue Flyover, the 10th Avenue Flyover, and building the Bhara Kahu Interchange.
Chief Commissioner and Chairman of the CDA, Capt (r) Muhammad Usman Younis, stated that they hoped to have the underpass completed by the tenth of this month, but the rain kept them from getting there.
