As Per RDA Instructions, Tourism Highway Project To Be Completed Soon

Tourism Highway Project

RAWALPINDI: A meeting of the Rawalpindi Development Authority was held on Thursday to discuss constructing the Tourism Highway.

Construction work on the project was discussed at the meeting, and Nespak was instructed to increase effort in order to complete it as soon as possible. The relevant authorities were instructed to complete the gaps on the tourist highway.

Once the project is complete, tourists will have access to travel facilities, and the local community will benefit as well, says Tariq Mehmood Murtaza.

In April last year, the foundation stone was laid for the 123-kilometer tourism highway. After passing Rawat Pandori Chowk, the route ascends to Lower Topa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir before running into the three hilly tehsils of Rawalpindi Kahuta, Kotli Sattian, and Murree.

A cost of Rs 4.75 billion would be incurred for the completion of the project.

Furthermore, 200,000 trees will be planted on either side of the street. Besides green spaces, tourism-related services will also be provided.
