Evacuee Trust Property Board Retrieved Property Worth Rs23 Billion From Occupants

LAHORE: The evacuated trust property board (ETPB) has retrieved over 3,500 acres of property valued at Rs23 billion from illegal occupants, gaining a total of Rs650 million in rent arrears.

The chairman of the One Man Commission, Dr Shoaib Suddle, announced this during a press conference with the chairman of the ETPB.

During the forensic audit of the trust board, he said that it was conducted in accordance with Supreme Court orders. A plan of action was developed in conjunction with ETPB and FIA based on the findings of the audit, and a substantial amount of valuable land was disposed of as a result of the plan.

The chairman of the board has implemented modern systems such as online billing systems, complaints, geo-tagging, and e-office in the board which are essential for boosting the department’s revenue.

With help from FIA, ETPB has successfully disposed of valuable trust land/property worth billions of rupees, the largest initiative in the board’s history.

In response to a question, he explained that the plan of action is formally implemented at various review meetings with the Trust Board and the FIA according to the instructions of the One-Man Commission. It has been necessary to renovate and enhance the security arrangements at Gurdwaras and temples that are functional.
