On Wednesday the statement was stated by Deputy Commissioner Umer Sher Chattha that as a pilot project, a one-kilometer lengthy street could be built with plastic waste withinside the provincial capital. He expressed their views while chairing a conference at the DC office on building roads with plastic waste. Islamabad expert, Ph.D. Waqas Cheema informed him about the use of plastic waste in road construction and said that eight types of plastic can be used in road construction. He also said that the Lahore waste management company could build a kilometer of roads using 5 tonnes of plastic while collecting more than 20 tonnes a day in the state’s big cities. At that time, the DC instructed authorities to visit the city’s plastic waste collection point, stating that such a project could help protect the environment.
