Rawalpindi: For providing relief to the consumers during the upcoming holy month, arrangements have been finalized for almost 16 Sasta Ramazan Bazaars in Rawalpindi.
The DC office spokesman reported that bazaars would be set up as per the special directions of the Punjab chief minister to facilitate relief for residents in the province.
A RWMC spokesman verified that heavy machinery was used in the process and hundreds of sanitary workers were involved in clearing the bazaar points.
Each bazaar will be inspected by special price control magistrates for quality and pricing. In parallel, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company has started cleaning Ramazan Sasta Bazaar sites.
DC Tahir Farooq had instructed all the assistant commissioners of the district to put up separate flour and sugar stalls in all bazaars while parking areas would be provided for all the bazaars. Moreover, fresh vegetables, fruits, and dates will also be available at these bazaars.
Moreover, the citizens will be able to buy all the items they need for daily use at subsidized prices, such as flour, sugar, grain, etc., which will be less than the open markets, he added.
Furthermore, the spokesman announced that the price control magistrates had been instructed to act against those who hoard or profit from daily use items that reached their peak before Ramadan. Two of the biggest bazaars will set up 70 stalls each at Double Road and Haidri Chowk.
