Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) released a schedule of 8-hours of load shedding

Islamabad: There was a load shedding schedule issued by the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) for the past eight hours for all of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

It is likely that consumers will be faced with over 8-hour blackouts day and night from today (Thursday) to the end of the week as the concerned department manages the daily load shedding schedule.

Muhammad Saeed Makhdoom, Senior Executive Engineer (XEN) of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco), told the media that there will be load shedding for 8 hours. All XENs have been notified by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to implement an 8-hour load shedding schedule.

For more than six months, consumers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad faced power blackouts of 8 to 10 hours per day. Maintenance work commenced in September 2021 and lasted until March 2022.

Iesco started unscheduled load shedding in all areas for over a week after the government specifically warned them not to carry out maintenance work.

In observance of the load shedding schedule since over a week ago, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) kept a silent eye on it. Over the last week, power was cut to Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Murree, Taxila, Hasanabadal, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, among others.

Additionally, the CEO has been ordered to manage the load shedding schedule on a day-to-day basis, the CEO said. According to him, the entire Iesco region, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, will be affected by this load-shedding plan.

Due to a technical fault in supply lines, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has issued a notification saying that consumers will be affected by this load shedding schedule. Nevertheless, the claim is not true.
