Islamabad residents are set to benefit significantly from the newly established Capital Development Authority (CDA) Mega One-Window centers. According to the details, this initiative aims to simplify access to essential services for residents by offering a wide range of facilities under one roof. Each center will feature twelve counters dedicated to various CDA services and another twelve counters for services provided by NADRA, the police, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), passport services, and other relevant agencies.
Part of the broader Islamabad Digitalisation Plan, these centers are designed to improve the efficiency and accessibility of public services through comprehensive digital integration. The first center, currently being upgraded at the G-7 CDA Facilitation Centre, will serve as a model for the subsequent centers. This upgraded facility will showcase the enhanced service delivery model, setting a standard for other centers to follow.
Once operational, these centers will significantly streamline the process for residents to obtain essential documents and services. Citizens will be able to obtain identity cards, driving licenses, and passports with ease. Additionally, the centers will provide facilities for paying property taxes, vehicle registrations, pensions, and utility bills. Another crucial feature is the ability to lodge complaints and register First Information Reports (FIRs), ensuring comprehensive support for a wide range of needs.
The CDA has been instructed by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to accelerate the project, highlighting its significance in decreasing bureaucratic hold-ups and enhancing public service efficiency in the capital city. He highlighted that the new centers are expected to greatly enhance the convenience for Islamabad’s residents, cutting down the time and effort previously required to navigate multiple government offices for different services.
Integrating various services in one location is expected to bring about a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for citizens. This initiative reflects a commitment to leveraging technology and digital solutions to address the administrative challenges residents face. By reducing the complexities and time associated with accessing public services, the CDA Mega One-Window centers aim to significantly boost the overall quality of life for Islamabad’s citizens.
As the Islamabad Digitalisation Plan progresses, these centers will play a pivotal role in transforming the public service landscape in the capital, ensuring that government services are more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the residents.
