Plots allocated illegally: NAB requests rejection of accused’s plea

Islamabad: An account of the request to reject the plea of the accused for wrongfully allotting amenity plots at Nehr-e-Khayyam was reported by the National Accountability Bureau.

Despite NAB’s request, the Audit Court II judge Muhammad Azam Khan said the matter would be decided by the court after hearing the defendant’s arguments.

A bench trial was adjourned until July 6 in light of the defendant, Amjad Iqbal Qureshi, not being present.

As an argument before the court, the NAB prosecutor objected to the accused’s claim that the Court has territorial jurisdiction over the case, saying that the case falls under that court’s jurisdiction. Accordingly, the prosecutor requested dismissal of his application.

However, the judge stated that after hearing the defendant’s arguments, the court would rule on the application. Until the 6th of July, the court has adjourned the hearing.
