LAHORE:
Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), on the special instructions of CEO LWMC Babar Sahib Din, has taken extraordinary actions to keep going general cleanliness especially skillful collection of solid waste from 40 trucking points settled across the city.
As per the Ramadan Plan, 333 sanitary workers along with compulsory tools and objects have been brought into action in two shifts at trucking points to ensure by-hand sweeping and water sprinkling. Extraordinary planning has also been made for the sweeping & washing of 175 major mosques across the city.
LWMC CEO said that for the purpose to aid shopkeepers and buyers in proper scrapping of waste and controlling cluttering, LWMC will ensure the cleaning of commercial markets in the early morning. Moreover, a committed sanitary team will also be set up in major city markets, 56 Iftar Dastar khawans, and graveyards for cleaning activities on a regular and weekly basis.
LWMC CEO said the Operations Department of LWMC will keep track of activities using android mobiles, especially in the video wall control room, and, ensure Standard Operating Procedures according to the plan concerning Ramzan Bazar.
Waste-related complaints received on official helpline 1139 and any other method will be rectified on special bases, he said. Communication Department will take advantage of teams of social collectors along with awareness literature to explain and guide shopkeepers and buyers on the correct discarding of waste to carry out the plan smoothly.
LWMC CEO said that the department has made unique settings to ease citizens in the holy month of Ramadan. He also requested the citizens to keep the city clean and cooperate with LWMC staff. In case of any waste-related problem please dial the LWMC helpline or can use social media; he added.
