LAHORE: In connection with its special cleanliness drive “Saaf Punjab Mohem”, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) accelerated mechanical sweeping operations and washed major roads and markets of the city on Monday.
Rafia Haider, CEO of LWMC, has extended to noon the timeframe for mechanical cleaning and washing. Previously, the night operation shift had only worked at night, but on the direction of the company head, the night shift now starts at 10pm and ends at noon the next day.
During the night shift, mechanical sweeping and washing operations were conducted at Jail Road, Gulberg Town, Liberty Market, MM Alam Road, Qartaba Chowk, Khayaban-e-Jinnah, Abid Market, and on Canal Road.
Meanwhile, LWMC machinery washed Mall Road, Wapda Town Roundabout, and other nearby areas. 220 sanitation workers cleaned various commercial markets and streets in the City manually.
