Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is endeavoring to provide economical, high-quality, and comfortable transportation services to the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, said the Authority’s spokesman Rana Shakeel Asghar.
First, the CDA aims to rebuild deteriorating road infrastructure throughout Islamabad in order to improve public transportation. The improved transportation in and around the capital area is expected to result in economic and environmental changes.
In a radio interview, he said a modern transport system is being established to cope with traffic jams and handle the increasing pressure of transport.
The Orange Line Metro Service has already been set up between Peshawar Morr and New Islamabad Airport, and the project is running smoothly, he added.
Our spokeswoman added that we have imported new orange buses from China for this route, as well as adding two new routes in the future. The first route connects Bhara Kahu with PIMs and the second connects Rawat with PIMS.
According to him, the road extension from Rawat to Koral is underway, so we will run the route from Koral to PIMS at first. Metro Bus Service at PIMS will connect these two routes with the Blue Line and Green Line buses.
The Peshawar Morr to Airport route was rationalized within one week on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he said. As part of the feeder routes, CDA is also planning to launch shuttle services from villages to terminals in the near future.
Also included in the CDA’s review were the Shah Allah Ditta Bypass, the Orange Line Metro Station, and Nelore Heights, a 2,000-unit FWO project in the public interest. In order to meet the needs of the general public, the agency is committed to investing more resources in housing.
