LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed and pulled down many properties on Monday, on doing its operations against unlawful construction and development.
The operation was executed on the directions of Director General LDA Aamir Ahmad Khan, under the supervision of LDA’s Chief Town Planner (CTP) Asad Zaman. According to the details, under the charge of Director Town Planning Zone One Salman Mahfooz, LDA teams carried out operations at Canal Road, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, and Old Muslim Town schemes and sealed several buildings.
An unlawful construction of a basement in a private housing society on Canal Road was partially pulled down. Unlawful constructions and many shops were pulled down in Samanabad, Shamnagar, and Gulshan Ravi while 10 other properties were sealed in Old Muslim Town for doing developmental activities without taking LDA’s consent.
In the same time, in another operation for not paying commercial fees, LDA teams sealed 39 buildings in the Tajpura scheme. The operation was executed by Director Town Planning Zone VII Ayesha Mutahir and was coordinated by CTP. Operation against nonpayment was carried out in the A, B, D, and E blocks of the Tajpura scheme. Notices were distributed frequently to the defaulters before the operations. LDA’s CTP Asad Zaman while talking with the secretary said that every zone was ordered to carry out strict regular operations against defaulters as well as unlawful constructions, development, and encroachments.
