LAHORE: An operation was conducted Thursday by the LDA’s Town Planning Wing against illegal commercial activities and non-payment of commercial fees.
LDA conducted several operations in previous months in Johar Town, Faisal Town, Model Town, Township, and Green Town, and demolished several illegal properties under the supervision of DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
A campaign to eradicate illegal commercial activities and constructions were launched under the direction of LDA DG Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who announced action against illegal structures and commercial activities.
During the operation, illegal and unapproved commercial buildings and business centers were sealed along Gulshan Ravi, Ferozepur Road, Multan Road and in LDA-controlled areas.
Shakeel Anjum Minhas, chief town planner, said that legal notices had already been issued to the owners of the buildings and they had been instructed to rectify the irregularities.
“We will take action against the buildings if the LDA notices are not implemented,” he said, threatening to seal those who failed to comply with the notice.
Shakeel Anjum Minhas, Chief Town Planner, and Shafqat Niaz Kang, Director, supervised the operation. There was also heavy police presence during the operation, including the Enforcement Wing.
A deputy director and a deputy director general were appointed and transferred by the LDA DG. The appointment of Assistant Director Tayyab Ali was at the disposal of the Chief Town Planner LDA in the Directorate of State Management (Private Housing Schemes).
Assistant Director Muhammad Haris Ali currently works as Deputy Director in the Town Planning Wing but was posted on his own pay scale to the Directorate of State Management (Private Housing Schemes).
An official notification in this regard has been issued by Director Administration Imran Ali. LDA has made a commitment to make Lahore free from illegal or unregistered properties.
