PESHAWAR: The KPK Chief Minister asked the relevant authorities to finalize the arrangements for the start of the second phase of the Swat Motorway project next week.
According to a statement issued here, Mahmood Khan made the announcement during the meeting of the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority on Monday.
Moreover, he instructed the concerned quarters to expedite the process of acquiring land for the Dir Motorway project.
Among those present were MPA Akbar Ayub Khan, the additional chief secretary Shahab Ali Shah, the secretary of finance Ikramullah Khan, the secretary of communications and works Ijaz Ansari, as well as PKHA managing director and special secretaries to the chief minister.
A 58-billion-rupee motorway would be constructed from Chakdara to Fatehpur at a cost of 88 kilometres. The land acquisition for the project was said to have been released at Rs 6.7 billion.
During the meeting, participants discussed different road projects, including Phase-II of the Swat Motorway and the Dir Motorway.
There has been interest expressed in the construction of the 30-km Dir Motorway between Chakdara and Rabat, participants were informed.
