LDA Steps Towards E-Bidding System to Bring Transparency in the System

LAHORE: A new e-bidding system has been introduced by Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to introduce transparency in public plot auctions.

In this regard, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Director General of the LDA, presided over an important meeting on Monday. Public auctions of plots will begin using the “e-bidding” system at the meeting.

LDA DG Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa pointed out that counterfeiting and protection of overseas Pakistani properties are the objectives of the online portal.

According to him, these steps will increase transparency within the LDA. A meeting was held between the Director of Administration Imran Ali, the Director of Headquarters Akbar Nakai, and the Director of Computer Services Abdul Basit Qamar, as well as other relevant officers.

A discussion regarding the transfer of properties of overseas Pakistanis and the introduction of an online portal facility for other matters also took place during the meeting.

As a result of public complaints and media reports regarding the lack of transparency in tendering and bidding for various projects, the Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) Vice Chairman Secretariat decided to introduce e-tendering in 2021.
