According to a CDA spokeswoman, the Avenue Interchange will also be substantially completed by August 14 along with the flyover.
A project to construct the Rawal Dam Chowk Flyover was inspected on Wednesday by the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amer Ali Ahmad. As part of the visit, he was informed that the Rawal Dam Chowk Flyover has been completed in part.
This project is expected to be completed in October, according to the PC-I. Currently, CDA officials expect it to be completed by the first week of September.
Inaugurated in July 2020, the Rs1.1 billion project will be completed in October 2021. Work began in October 2020 and work will be completed in October 2019.
Detailed information suggests the flyover has been asphalted, and now the surroundings are being raised.
The marking of traffic lanes has also begun, and lane marking and artwork will be completed in a few days. In two to three days, Jersey barriers will be completed and this bridge/flyover will be open to the public.
According to the weather, the remaining works on the underpass will be completed between 20 and 30 days from now. Along with the flyover, the CDA spokesman added that the Avenue Interchange will also be substantially completed by August 14.
Several weeks will pass before the underpass on Suhrawardy Road is completed. CDA management is working tirelessly to complete two major landmark projects within the stipulated time frame. There will be a reduction in traffic congestion in the capital city as a result of these projects.
As Shehbaz Sharif visited the construction site, he ordered an investigation into it and ordered it concluded by September. The CDA management has been making every effort since that time to meet the prime minister’s deadline for completion.
Construction materials prices increased earlier this year and contractors (a joint venture of two companies) stopped their work halfway, resulting in a setback for CDA. Until Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) was engaged to complete the work, the work remained suspended for a couple of months.
